The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), absorbed the powers and functions of the defunct Office on Muslim Affairs (OMA), and was created by virtue of Republic Act 9997 enacted by both Houses of Congress on December 16, 2009 and signed into law by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on February 18, 2010. The law became effective on March 6, 2010, thus, validated the legal existence of the new Commission which aims to be more effective in delivering services for the benefit of all Filipino Muslims. Leadership of the agency, the Secretary/CEO, has changed three times from its inception: First - Hon. Bai Omera "Hafidah" D. Dianalan-Lucman (2010-2012) Second - Hon. Mehol K. Sadain (2012-2014) Third - Hon. Yasmin Busran-Lao (2014 - 7/15/2017) Officer-in-Charge (7/16/2017-7/8/2018 - Hon. Tahir S. Lidasan, Jr., CESO II Fourth - Hon. Atty. Saidamen B. Pangarungan (7/9/2018 - present) NCMF South Luzon is the regional office tasked to oversee the needs of Muslim Filipinos based in three (3) regions, namely: Region 4A (CALABARZON), Region 4B (MIMAROPA) and Region 5 (Bicol). It is presently headed by the Hon. Atty. Dalomilang N. Parahiman.
